Artistic expression through dance (voguing), performance, fashion, and storytelling is central to ballroom culture. Equally important is its social function: ballroom is a place where chosen families are formed, where queer and trans people find strength, support, and visibility.
This is the focus of PLAYGROUND and since its inception it has grown into a one of the most celebrated ballroom events in the Netherlands, inspiring similar initiatives across Europe.
